The test installation of the Agri-PV solar photovoltaic power plant in Jork, Germany, is designed to generate renewable electricity using photovoltaic modules while continuing fruit cultivation in the “Altes Land” region with apple trees planted underneath. This innovative system, known as Agri-PV or Agriculture PV, enables dual use of land, maximizing the value of farmland and supporting sustainable agriculture.
The system is mounted with modules at a fixed angle and oriented east and west to maximize solar energy absorption. The structural system features hot-dip galvanized profiles and high-strength grade 8.8 screws equipped with triple-galvanized DIN 9021 washers.
The Agri-PV plant in Jork is a pioneering project in the field of renewable energies and demonstrates the potential of combining agriculture and solar energy production for sustainable development.

Jork is a municipality in Lower Saxony in the district of Stade on the southwestern border with Hamburg and the center of the “Altes Land,” one of the largest fruit-growing areas in Europe. Jork is also home to a fruit research center.
- The construction of the test plant includes the turnkey delivery and installation of the substructure and modules. The focus of the test plant was never on power generation, but rather on its impact on the apple orchard below.
- The structure system consists of two vertically mounted modules that are tilted at an angle of 10 degrees and face east and west. This configuration ensures good sunlight exposure on the modules without causing poorly usable midday peaks in power generation.
- The metal structure has posts driven into the ground to ensure stability and durability. The hot-dip galvanized profiles and aluminum clamps made of alloy 6063 T66 EN755-9 offer resistance to corrosion and harsh weather conditions, ensuring long-term durability.
- The high-strength class 8.8 screws, equipped with triple-galvanized DIN 9021 washers, ensure a secure and stable mounting system for the modules, even in strong winds.
